To replace the blood lost in an injury people give blood
The heart is the pump that makes the blood circulate
The regular muscular contractions of our heart cause our heartbeat
The capillaries are small tubes linking veins and arteries
Blood vessels take blood back to the heart so it can be re-pressurised
The pulmonary and aorta arteries take blood away from the heart
You feel a pulse in arteries because the blood is at pressure
Arteries can become blocked if you do not eat a healthy diet or take regular exercise. Smoking also causes blockages
