GCSE Physics: Mains Supply

The electricity supplied to our homes is A.C. (Alternating Current).It has a voltage of 240 and is continually changing direction,going on way then the other 50 times a second (50Hz). A cell or battery produce D.C. (Direct Current). The current is constant and only flows in one direction.
